Unhappy 3 Visits from AF...in ONE MONTH!!!!

OK....now this is starting to freak me out. I just have just had my 3rd friendly visit from the AF this month. I am also experiencing one or two days of PMS symptoms every time, meaning my whole month has been spent either preparing for AF or having it. I don't know if there is some sort of retro-pay deal with PCOS once you start treatment but this is a bit over the top. I am going back to my doctor for my first follow-up in 3 weeks. I have now been on Metformin and Aldactone for 3 months.

Has anyone had this problem? Is this normal? Is this a good thing?

Agghhhh....any help is greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday season!

Post AF is nuts

I have been getting AF every 2-3 weeks for a full week-long period for a while now. I was not taking any meds when that started, and only vitamin supplements now anyway. I'm not sure what's up, as AF had been regular for about 4 years (except one month in spring). I have no idea what it means or what is going on though, sorry GP doesn't really seem to think it is earth-shattering.

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

YES YES YES!

I am SO glad I found this site. How I was dx with PCOS is in October I had 3 periods. I was so drained I called my OBGYN and made an appointment. Thank God my Doctor was out delivering a baby because I talked with the Nurse Practitioner instead and she is the one who took blood.

The Nurse told me that it was ok for me to have them as long as it didn't make me Anemic. Losing that amount of blood that quickly can be bad but if its relatively normal amounts that you would lose during an average period it shoudln't be a problem. She did say that they wanted to put me on bcp to regulate it but I am alergic to the fillers and am unable to take them. So I just deal. Since I started taking the met I have been regular so I am not too worried.

Trust your body. If you feel wrong go see the doctor.
