Thanks for the job tip, because there's a Walgreens around the corner! I have a couple of other ideas brewing, and I think I'll wait to use up my COBRA to make any change for myself.
There's an update for dh! He got an acceptance letter today, so he's covered July 1st. [His COBRA expires July 31st.] They didn't want me because of my PCOS. 
Thanks, everyone, for your help and support! We'll be fine until this time next year, and hopefully I'll be more height/weight proportional by then for those apps.
