I'm on Spironolactone which is the generic form of Aldactone. My RE explained that it basically serves as a testosterone "mop". The excess testosterone in your system causes both excess hair on your body and less hair on your head. So when you mop up that excess testosterone, your hair will stop shedding and the treatment for your hirtuism will be less aggressive.
