I've been taking 1000mg (working my way up to 1500mg) MEtformin for about a month and no period in sight and my acne is worsening. I haven't had acne until 2+years ago when I was diagnosed with PCOS. Except the acne now seems to be more persistent and just more of it.
Don't know what to do. I want to induce a period because we're TTC but am alittle mortified by the worsening acne. I have excess testestorone. Acne has ballooned out a week after stopping Diane. I've been using Retin A for 2 years but is there any other medication that is safe to use while TTC oral/topical? I think nothing will help the skin and the hair loss since it's hormonal. But I don't want it to get worse. I had forgotten how awful it is to deal with acne since puberty! I miss my clear, clear skin and full hair pre-PCOS!!
Is there a cure for PCOS???
4 weeks into metformin but acne is worsening!
