I was watching Daystar Tv program, Celebration with hosts Marcus & Joni Lamb with guest Tom Leding on March 10, 2004. He praised the value and importance of 40 days of waking up at 5 a.m. and reading these chapters of the bible. Some people even commit do this daily, even after the initial 40 days. No particular order of the chapter readings to possess a deeper understand of The Father & to draw closer to Him & His word.
People have pledged to do this for 40 days & have contacted Tom Leding with amazing testimonies that have occured in their lives. I want to do this. I want amazing things to occur, but even if they don't... I still want the discipline & to have an intimate relationship with God early in the morning. Jesus Christ woke early in the morning & worshiped, pray, talked, communicated, was with God.... I want that... but (shamefully) my flesh is Currently stronger than my spirit because I don't wake up early in the a.m. to spend time with the Father or even later in the day. Lately, it's a "fast food-like "hey God, it's me" thing. I don't want that to continue.
Please pray for & with me that my spirit overcome my flesh & achieve the victory.

I really believe what you said about God pulling here for a reason. I believe the reason why a friend came into my life is to bring me closer to the truth.
Dearest Cysters and Sisters of Faith,
God does have His way of not letting me backslide for too long. My fingers went to typing and declared my prayer to have a more intimate relationship with Him.... and YOU heard my prayer.
This very morning, I awoke at 30 minutes to 5am & had this spiritual battle to get up & read my bible, then exercise, & get a healthy breakfast. Alas, my lazy, slothful self did neither.... I don't believe I'll be able to stand myself much longer if I keep up this disrespectful behavior.
I don't know where to begin to start a 5 O'Clock Club via SoulCysters. I'll pray for the answer. Pray with me. This is continually on my mind & soul more & more each day. I know it's gonna win; why I keep delaying God's will is just human foolishness. God's plan don't change because of Linda's pouting, dragging my feet, & murmuring "I don't wanna" or "Not now, God, maybe later". Like I have control of His timeline-- I must have hit my head or maybe I'm dehydrated. Something unholy, don't answer that, Cysters.
I googled Tom Leding and there he was with a bio & description of the 5 o'clock club.

It's great to be back since my computer is now virus-free. I was super busy at work & a little under the weather. Unfortunately, it seems that my simple post has been taken out of context.
Let me state the facts:
1. This original post was a personal post regarding my prayer for wanting to participate in the 5 o'clock club for my own spiritual growth and intimate relationship with God.
2. I wanted to share it with whomever else felt the will of God move them to do so-- personally.
3. The basis of the 5 o'clock club was stated in the original 2 posts to read the bible in a year. I also stated my reasons:
No particular order of the chapter readings to possess a deeper understand of The Father & to draw closer to Him & His word.
4. My God restores the body, mind, soul, spirit, & everything that relates to life and living. He's not selective or discriminatory.
5. This was never intended to be a formal nor informal faction/ group anywhere within SoulCysters. I believe Soul Cysters Bible Study Group is a great idea for fellowship.
6. I adore the thread that living 2 be alive started for the Christian websites. I have contributed several of my favorites to the list. I have found discovered a few priceless treasures that others have shared. Thank you once again, Living 2 be Alive.

Well, now that any and all confusion has been cleared up. This can no longer bother me and I can enjoy my visits to Soul Cysters.
