I'm pretty sure I'm a 1, since I'm not Type II Diabetic and I'm pretty sure I'm not IR (yet). I am obese, but I have borderline high testosterone and don't ovulate unless on met.

Very interesting article.

Default 3 here

I guess I am a 3 also. When dx I had just a smidge of an elevated fasting glucose. I have gained alot of weight and would miss my cycle every 2-3 months. Dr. put me on Met and I got frustrated and stopped taking it in Feb. I am now back taking it faithfully, but had to start all over with the uncomfortable side effects.

I think I'm a 4--although I'm not 100% sure. I'll know for sure at my next appointment. She has some tests scheduled for me to have done soon and we'll go over the results then.

Have a blessed day!

I have no idea which category I fall into. I just found out I have PCOS. I know I have ovulated in the past because I've been pregnant twice, but I only started temp. charting recently. I always used to get AF, although I was never a clockwork 28 day cycle. I got pregnant with my son very easily, and I also was pregnant in Dec. but had a MC right away. After the MC I started using OPK's and temping and that is when I noticed things were not right. I didn't seem to be ovulating. Also, AF became very erratic. I went to my OB/GYN and ultrasound showed ovarian cysts, bloodwork was done which showed PCOS. My bloodwork results were:
testosterone-39
free testosterone-.8
LH-8.8
FSH-6.4
DHEA-782
I tried to look up what all these numbers mean, and if I'm reading them correctly everything is normal except for my DHEA which is very high. I have no idea if I'm insulin resistant, is there a separate test for that? I wouldn't say that I'm obese, but I have gained a lot of weight over the past 5 years or so. (I'm currently 5'7 and 170 lbs., about 30 lbs. heavier than I used to be. I'm not sure if this is due to getting older and having a baby, or the PCOS?) Any idea what category I'm in? I'm just confused!

Same here... Although I dont know if the met will help since I just started. Usually I dont ovulate without provera.

I don't fall into any of them! The closest I can get is type 3. But I have increased androgen levels.

I've always been rather odd. XD

Don't know whether I'm a 1 or 5 as never charted my cycle before. I'm trying to at the moment, but no AF since Nov and I've been on some kind of BCP since diagnosed 13 years ago. Hope AF starts soon so I can start charting and find out

I believe that I'm probably a 4 or 5. I know I ovulate and I know I have what seems to be some insulin resistance issues. I get really jittery and weak if I eat anything sweet first thing in the morning. Haven't been tested for insulin resistance yet. Good list!
