Thanks for the breakdown. I'm new on this forum and not sure if I have PCOS, but I've had a dr. suggest it.
-No cysts on ovaries (but one is twice the size of the other and I don't know what this means),
-hormones within normal range,
-irregular periods w/o b/c,
-suppose i ovulate at times,
-glucose and insulin normal though i've never had an ogtt just serum (so does this rule out IR),
-but I do have hirsutism so the one thing I do no is that i am sensitive to the testosterone i do have.

SO, I don't seem to fit into any of the 5 types of PCOS, but maybe idiopathic hirsutism w/o the increased androgens.

Also, this may sound like a pretty stupid question, but how do you if you ovulate? I know about the mittlesmerch(?) pain and gooey discharge (is this the only way to know)

I feel that way too..that's why I had to say goodbye to the caffeine. You want to see an explosion.."this is your brain on caffeine"..not pretty. Even though I know caffeine increases the stress, I still indulge in cappachino sometimes...mocha, caramel, irish cream, vanilla The decaf green tea still has caffeine but very little so I drink that more often and get points for being healthy. I don't know your dx, but after reading several threads, I've noticed a lot of women who were dx with PCOS, but had cushing's (it has very high levels of cortisol) Have you looked into this?

I don't know what I am! LOL! Right after I went off the bcp a year ago I was charting and I WAS ovulating, but very late, my cycles would range 51 days, 51 days, 40 days, 68 days.... I haven't ovulated since my d&c for a missed miscarriage in January. Does this mean I am ovulatory or anovulatory?

The blood tests for my androgen/testosterone levels came back in the normal range but I do suffer from adult acne.
The blood tests for my glucose/insulin levels were also in the normal range.
My dx came from my LH:FSH ratio test which had a ratio of 2:1. What type am I? I'm a mystery!!! LOL!?

Hi, in the same boat I'm thin cyster(?) cysts unsure. The only thing I know for certain is that I am sensitive to the normal levels of androgrens in my system causing hursutism and slight acne. My periods also go beserk off of b/c

This is a great thread. I'm definitely going to have to talk to my dr. I don't know where I fit either. I definitely don't ovulate, I have cysts, and my BMI is in the obese range -- the weight's super hard to lose. But the last time I had my androgens checked they came back normal, my estrogen was low though. And I've never had a glucose tolerance test although I know my blood sugar levels are normal.

I am pretty sure I am a 1, I was just diagnosed 2 days ago, so I still don't have a very clear picture of what is going on.

Hello to all the cysters i am 29, and not ttc, but I am just trying to get everything in order before. I was dx last year, right after my dr gave me a sono and I actually saw the cysts. It was crazy. But I do have a question, so since u can menstruat without o, can u o without menses. I say this because w/o bc i will not have my menses but I do experience the symptoms of pms, tenderness in breasts, light cramping, mood swings, and cravings. I have experienced the symptoms of o, as well. Dont kno feel like im crazy. so I am not sure if i am a 3.

Interesting, I don't fit any of the categories, I'm anovulatory, amennorheaic, have cystic ovaries, but no androgen problems, no IR, and I'm of average weight.
