WOW!!!
I'm so glad I logged on!!! I've often wondered the same thing. I haven't been formally dx w PCOS (my appt is this month) but am amazed at how much I have in common with what I've read, so I had to reply. I hope this helps, I have:
IBS
Asthma
Fibromyalgia
Major allergies
Horrible migraines (mostly hormonal) (Imitrex saves me)
arthritis
Photophobia (cannot tolerate light at all!)
Acid Reflux
I KNOW something is wrong. I've had horrible cramps since I first got my pd (age 11). My cycle was always irregular. The gyn put me on BCP which helped the cramps but made the migraines worse. Even tried a BCP called Micronor. I had menopausal symptoms on that. It was supposed to be safe for migraneurs, but they became much worse, so I went off it. Now, my cycle is more "regular" 28 -38 days roughly-- which is more predictable compared to what it was. But, I've had bad cramps these past few years. I'm a wreck a week before my pd up to several days after. Some blood work indicates that I'm close to menopause -- at age 35. No kids yet. Feel as tho it may be too late.
Have had at least one large ovarian cyst.
Every once in a while I too, get a tingling/numbness down my left arm.
Also, I have thyroid symptoms but lab results read in the normal range. My Dr says that results can be "normal" but still have Wilson's Syndrome. Won't treat me for it, says she's had mixed results. Another Dr referred me to a site you may find interesting:
www.DrRind.com
I've found some relief from a chiropractor and accupuncturist.
We may sound like hypochondriacs, but I've noticed that if I ignore symptoms, they just get worse, and then it becomes out of control.
... and that's really about it --- or at least, all I can remember, my memory is gone (they say that is part of the menopausal stuff!)
Glad to be here! : )
