My Dr. said I'm showing insulin resistance with my "numbers", however... everything I seem to be reading says that 100 or greater is what to watch out for. mine is 95 right now. When I have told others, they say, "that's a good number! you've got nothing to worry about!?" ??? i'm confused! I am wondering if Dr. is just going on 'other' factors like my boarderline BP and obesity. She was originally talking Met, to help me start ovulating again... but, now she's sent me on to see an RE. I'm wondering if the new Dr. will dismiss the Met b/c my number was 95. what do you all think? TIA! Missy
You might be showing other signs of pre-diabetes, I don't know. What I do know is that anything 100 or lower is a good fasting blood sugar. However, it may be that may be a little close to the 100 range. Perhaps it just shows that you are getting close to that threshold. I'm not sure. I honestly do not know how I was diagnosed IR. I had just turned 15 at the time and had pancreatitis.
Sometimes, depending on which hand you use, you'll get a different reading on each hand. I would not be concerned with a number under 100. I'm usually somewhere between 90-100.
