I have had a rubbish couple of weeks - eaten total crap- too scared to weigh myself!!
Off to dublin today no doubt we will eat out every night so I bet I wont even fit in the aeroplane seat home!!! Back on the wagon after though... that wedding ticker is creeping up on me.
What have you been eating cazza?

I'd disagree with whoever said eat less, do more... Could be you're doing too much exercise, and/or eating too little, so forcing your body into 'starvation mode' which makes it hang onto everything.
Best advice I'd give you is, find out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and NEVER eat below that no' in cals, per day. In fact, on a day you're doing an hour's aerobic exercise - you need to be fuelling that exercise, not depriving yourself more! To give a rough idea, when I started out in July 2005, I was very close to 14st. So, at that point I had a BMR of over 1600 cals a day. I lost weight comfortably on 1600 cal a day. You should never cut your cals below BMR for longer than a fortnight, if you are tempted. If you check BMR and find you've been eating too little to fuel your weight loss, you have to adjust cals UP! And fast!
I lost most of my weight at half lb a week, or even far less. Many weeks, a big fat Zero weight loss and every now and then - gains. If you keep going, you'll get there, or close to there!
Also, could you be sabotaging yourself? There can also be a psychological element of setting yourself up to fail - imposing little ultimata like 'If I don't lose x weight by y date, I'm giving up....' I used to find myself eating more if I started doing well - not just relaxing, but also sabotaging myself, as if on some level I wasn't ready to lose the weight.
If you think the last thing is the case, then maybe you should give it a rest for a bit, and work on the emotional side of things. It sounds like a daft question but if more of us asked it, at the start of a 'diet', and understood the implications of it, we'd be more successful:
Am I ready to lose weight?

great advice Polly, thanks a lot, yes I am very ready to lose weight, but i know where you are coming from. I wasn't previously but i'm in the zone now. I think instead of it making me want to quid now i am sooo determined that i am just gonna keep trying.
How do i find out my BMR?
I am definately in the eat more school of dieting!

Different things work for different people - but i find if i eat a little less and exercise a little more it works for me! and i wasnt implying cazza should starve herself and exercise every second of the day - i was just suggesting that maybe her weigtloss was static (she said she had been dieting for weeks) and that the little tweaks either way would get the weightloss back on track. thats all! i dont think thats a bad thing? i think a lot of people find that this works - without having to go to the extremes of forcing their bodies into 'starvation mode'.
congratulations on your success with your method though :o) x

And in any of Rosemary Conley's books. As you lose each 10lb or so, they recommend you re-check your BMR as it will go down, and your weight loss then stops or slows if you don't readjust down. (I started with a BMR of over 1600 cals a day, and now it's little over 1400, so I was constantly re-adjusting my diet as the weight went - it's not a 'one size fits all' plan, like so many of them - but something tailored to you. You don't need to starve or do 5 hrs aerobics a week -unless you like doing 5 hrs aerobics a week! You just need to stick around BMR. There are many ways of doing it - but something that is kind to women with PCOS and gives you good nutrition is always sensible!)
But I know Rosemary has said for years that to go lower than BMR for more than a couple of weeks can seriously affect your metabolism and make it even harder to lose weight. You can kick start a weight loss regime with a lower-than-BMR no' of cals, but it will damage you, longterm.
I think you just need to be kinder to yourself, and go easier - not harder - and see if it works for you. We're all cheering you on!
