My lower abdomen, which has always been rather puffy, is way bigger than usual. I feel like I've gained a lot of weight, but I've been working out and eating normally, so I don't see why that would happen.
If I press down on the lower left side of my abdomen, it hurts and is really sore. Compared to the other side (which is just kind of fat), it feels like there's something sitting in there.
Additionally, I've been having persistent lower back pain, stabbing pains on both sides of my lower abdomen, two heavy periods a month, pain that sometimes spreads to my butt and legs, and I'm always exhausted. I also always have to pee, especially at night when I lay down.
Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be? I can't get in to see my doctor until 4/7. I had an appointment a week or two ago, but he canceled it. If this sounds like it could be something serious, I will look into going to someone else who can see me right away...or at least somewhat sooner. Any thoughts?

I don't think so. My doctor only really sends me for blood testing. I haven't been to the gynecologist since 2006 (horrible, I know), but she sent me for an ultrasound to check if I had cysts on my ovaries twice and they never found anything. Of course that was nearly 3 years ago, I guess anything is possible now. Should I just go see a gynecologist instead? I don't have one right now, but I could go to one at my job and be seen next week, I'm sure.
Can fibroids make an abdomen swell like this? I feel like my pants are really tight...I'm probably up a size and a half in the past 6 months. I keep thinking I'm not trying hard enough with my eating and exercising, but when I think about it, I really don't think I could be doing much more. Maybe there is another factor at work?

I went from nothing to 4 big ones in less than 3 years. The largest one weighed about 4 pounds and was the size of a baby's head. My belly was so big that the doctor said I was the size of someone 4 months pregnant.
Like you, I hadn't gone to the doctor for awhile, and I attribute my belly to 'pcos belly'.
By the time the fibroids were caught they were so big, that they required surgery (4 days in the hospital).
Get to the doctor...

Hi
So sorry you are going through this. I had similar pain and mine turned out to be a large complex ovarian cyst that was taken out. But don't worry....your doctor will be able to see what is going on if he/she does a sonogram. As soon as the cyst was gone...so was all the pain Good luck
