abnormal bleeding/period from hell

I was curious if anyone else has had a horrendous period. Last month, my period was so heavy and ugly that I went to the emergency room. I was thinking maybe I was having a miscarriage or "chemical pregnancy". They did a urine preg test and it came back negative. The blood flow was unreal, coming down my leg and onto the hospital floor as I got ready for the pelvic exam. Also, i had no bad cramping you might expect with this. I heard two of the doctors say the word "biopsy" and "she's only 31" so that really freaked me out. I later asked my doctor if they could've been talking about me, he said 'yes, that if you're over 35 they would do a biopsy of your uterus" I am 31...
So the next day I went to one of my obgyn's partners and he said that it's kind of like walking down the street, tripping and how you should keep on walking (not go the doctor). He told me to go home and get pregnant. Needless to say I won't be seeing him again!!

So I was just curious if any other women have had this happen.
