Default ? about appt. with Endo

I am not sure what forum to post this in, I hope its ok here!

I have my first appt. on Tues. with my Endo. What can I expect during this visit? I just dont want to be surprised with test or anything KWIM? And what kind of questions should I ask her? I am excited about seeing a specialist so I can start getting better but nervous at the same time about what kind of test she might run!

Default Appointment with Endo

I was finally diagnosed between Christmas and new year, and finally saw an Endo a couple of weeks ago.

Despite being disgnosed by my GP, after a scan and a blood test, 4 weeks before my appointment, i had to go for a blood test. On the day, i had to take a urine sample.

I was soooo excited about finally seeing someone, and nervous as well. What i did was make sure that i was totally prepared for my appointment (my brain is like mush at the moment!!) I took a list of my cycle, because i'm not very regular. I also took along all of the medication that i take, or have recenty taken. I also wrote a list of all of the questions that I wanted to ask, and read that in the waiting room before my appointment.

The first thing that happened when i arrived, was that i was weighed by a nurse, then she took my pulse. I then went in to see endo, who reviewed my blood test results. He asked me what medical problems i have, what symptoms i have, and whether i am planning to conceive. He then explained a bit about the condition, what treatments are available etc. He then asked me what my concerns were, and if i had any questions. (I had loads) Because the Medication that he recommended was not available through the hospital pharmacy, he told me he'd write to my GP who would be able to do the prescription. I have to have another blood test in June and go back to see him in July. All very painless!

So, good luck with your appointment, let us know how you get on. The only downside with all of this is that it does seem to take so much time to get sorted, so try to be patient.
