Today is my day before surgery and the doctor wanted me to do a bowel prep with fleet phosphate oral with two doses. I took the first dose which was 1.5 ozs and about 45 minutes later I vomited with out forcing my self, sorta like the vomit with a stomach bug and it was bright yellow and allot of it. and I took this on a empty stomach like I was told too. And the mixture that I took was clear. I called my doctor about it and she said not to continue with the fleet and just stay on clear liquids for the rest of the day/night.
Has anybody else had this problem or what caused it? My mom is wanting me to ask somebody (she really wanted to ask my guy friend that had a similar problem about this, but I really don't wanna call him up and say "hey what color was your vomit 2 weeks ago" lol ya know, anyways I don't think he is home right now)

bright yellow vomit is usually becasue you are vomiting bile. Not really a problem in itself, but tastes particularly VILE ... (but then vomit is vile anyway). Bile only comes up when your stomach is empty.
I would also assume it was bile....which, I agree, is VILE! Blech!
Funny thing ~ I had to go back and read your post to see "oral" because as soon as I saw "Fleet" I assumed it was an enema..... I thought "Oh, THAT is her problem!!" Glad I went back and read "oral."

You have to try to make sure you get cleaned out or they will make you do it all again and reschedule the appt.
I was very lucky. I managed to get through most of the ordeal before I got sick. So they didn't retest. But this was for a diagnostic testing not surgery.
If they worry about it, they are happy to give you the Fleet prior to surgery.
