Default ? about IVF in NZ

Hi

I am Kiwi currently in OZ and thinking about moving home.
My question is about IVF in NZ
how much does it cost, are there waiting lists
is it done public or private.

I would like to hear some experances.

DH has a Varicocele and we will need to do micro injection.

Just want to know if we are better off waitng till after IVF to move.

It is going to cost us $3000-4000 a cycle and half that for a ET cycle.

Hi Nesi,
hopefully there wil be some kiwi ivfers here who can share their experiences.

Just wanted to tell you about the ivf connections website if you have not already visited it. I find it a useful resource for ivf.
You can sign up for free and access message board forums similar to the ones here at Soulcysters, just click on bulletin boards then 'all boards' to see the lists. There is a board called ivf in new zealand, I just had a quick look at it and there seems a lot of posts, there was also one on costs in nz, so you might get some answers there too.
(There is also a male factor board with posts on varicoceles etc).

I'm not sure where you are in Aus, but this may be of interest?Melbournes Royal Womens Hospital offer a public ivf clinic as part of mivf which can reduce the costs significantly from many private clinics. (Melbourne does have a male factor specialist too).

(click on costs page).

Sydney's RPA also has a public ivf clinic, which lowers the cost, although they do have donor facilities, however they do not offer most male factor treatments.

I listed some nz contacts a few months ago in the ivf clinic thread at the top of the Aussie Kiwi forum which might have some info too?

Wishing you heaps of luck with your treatments,
Rhon.
