Question ? about laser hair removal

I had my first laser hair removal treatment and I was just wondering when the results were first noticable?

They told me once I started the treatments that the only thing I could do in between treatments to remove the noticable hair was to shave....my treatments should total about 5 times (to get all stages of the different growth follicals) Is this about the normal length?.....I'm thinking with the speed of my hair growth, just not holding high hopes.

I am having my lip and chin area done @ $ 75.00 a treatment.....would love to do my arms but I don't want to spend alot of money at one time!

Hi Jodi,
I had laser done about 6 weeks ago, at 8 weeks I go for my second treatment. The regrowth has started but it is very fine, not course and not nearly as much, not even close!
I had my arms, under arms, and legs done. The laser I was treated with was the Alexandrite. I have heard only good things about this type of laser. Which type are you being treated with?
I am loving the results, the whole thing seems like magic to me, I have a way to go yet, but my self image is finally starting to improve.
Try to be patient during the "shedding" phase, I sure hope everything goes as well for you, I'm betting it will.
Please post again so we can see how everything is going with you. Best wishes and Best of luck,
Rainy

The laser is from IPL Technology (Intense Pulsed Light) It is "supposedly" more advanced than even lasers, (whatever that means? ) It is the first "photoepilation" for all skin types.

My treatment felt like a little rubber band popping but it only lasted a split second. The tech used a cold gel on my face and that seemed to help. Also, one thing that was uncomfortable was the constant flashing of the light- I had those "cool" glasses on (just being sarcastic!) and my eyes shut but it just seemed very uncomfortable....hope there is no damage to your eyes from this!

Anyway.....I never shaved but am having to do so while under these treatments (i am not allowed to wax, pluck, or nair) So I have prickily hairs but I guess this has to do with catching the follicles in their stages.

After reading some of the post here on laser treatments I'm noticing mine is a lot cheaper.....hope I still get good results. My OB/Gyn is doing this in the same building where she practices.

Sorry to get long winded-
