Default ??? about Moles

Ok, I have always had moles and now I am getting skin tags. I know the skin tags are from the PCOS and that they are benign, but what about the moles?
Are the moles because I have PCOS or are they a seperate issue?
And how do you know if they are benign? I have a huge mole that is dark in color, has a hair in the middle and is growing, could this be cancerous?
I hate to keep asking the doc about moles everytime I see her, I am afraid she will think that I am paranoid and think that everything is cancer.
But I am afraid to let it go too.
HELP??????????

I have a ton of moles...o.k. maybe not a ton...like 5-6. I keep an eye on them. I am very fair skinned and burned alot as a kid, so I know that I higher risk of getting skin cancer. Seriously if they change, grow, get darker or hurt then I would see the dr. pronto. It is nothing to screw around with, but if you don't have reason to worry then I would not. BTW...my dh has a mole that has hair growing out of it...I don't think that it is cancerous...but I am not a dr.

BTW: Your dr. is there to cover any illenesses or worries that you have. Don't be ashamed to bring it to her attention. Better safe than sorry is a good motto to have about your health!

I agree. Your doc should check every mole you consider abnormal.

Here is a good site about that: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/w...tic-nevi/page8
