I've been lurking on these boards (especially this one) and I decided to go ahead and register. After reading all of the posts on soy, I decided to give it a try. From second day I used it, I have noticed light spotting and it's been that way since. Today is the last day for me to use it . I have noticed (sorry if too graphic) what I thought looked like EWCM the second day but was "tinged" w/blood? Good sign, bad sign? It's been so long since I've "o'd" I don't think I remember what that is! It would be so great if it actually worked. That way, if I did get pg, I could tell the doc it was w/ natural alternatives instead of all those drugs!!!! Just wanted an opinion as to if the spotting was good or bad? Thanks!

I don't know if the spotting is good or bad, but I can tell you I did not spot when I took my dose of it. What CDs did you take them? There are a few of us that has tried SPI this cycle - hopefully they can better answer your question. Good Luck and Welcome!

I meant to start it CD5, but went out of town and didn't take it w/ me!! I figured, what the heck, I'd still try it and see, I mean, if I don't "O" as it is, what will it matter if I did "o" and it was a few days past CD14(which is considered "normal"). I did it CD 8-12, so in comparing it to those who have done it CD 5-9 and o'd around CD 14-16, I figured if it works it would occur around CD 17-19? As far as I know, you can definitly still get pg if you "o" around those days right? (I saw someone on here somewhere who o'd on CD 34 and was pg) so I thought why not? Maybe it was just my body's way of saying "hey, this is something different". Either way, it's nice to know my body does at least RECOGNIZE something new has been introduced (since AF's are induced w/ npc). That is my whole problem I believe, if I could just get one of those eggs to fall at the right time, I think I'd be good to go!!!!! Thanks!
I was getting the discoloured mucous between AFs while I was very irregular and I was using SPI and drinking soymilk all the time (dairy intollerance). I would have a light AF that would seem to ease up, then start again, then there'd be the discoloured mucous for a while, etc., etc. My cycle was all over the place and I was not ovulating. I started taking Black Cohosh just a couple of days before I was diagnosed with PCOS (after bleeding for 6-7 weeks) and I had an IUD taken out at the same time. I then had a heavy bleed for the next 2 weeks (from the IUD), but it finished more cleanly than it had in a loooooong time and there was no discolouration after that. I had plenty of normal mucous that cycle and O'd. The luteal phase was only 6 days but I'm sure that will lengthen out. I then had a six day AF (unheard of for years) and that finished cleanly too - no more discolouration .
I stopped using SPI/soy milk not long after being diagnosed, as I have read quite a bit about how dangerous it can be. Here are a couple of links about it if you are interested:
