My BF went to the doctor yesterday and was told that his AC1 test results at the previous visit was 15, yesterday it was 7.5 and the doctor wants it below 7. My question is what does an AC1 test test for? I asked my BF who said I don't know. Guess he didn't think to ask while he was there.

Thanks for any help you ladies can give me.

It test your average blood sugar for the past 3 month. Thats why they want most poeple to go in every 3 month for them.

Thank you so much! That makes sense now. He gets to go back in 6 weeks to have this checked again! Hopefully it will come back under 7 next time!

Wow 15 to 7.5 thats awesome! Tell him to keep up the good work! I have found that the lower it gets, the easier it is to keep it low. Which means that maybe most of the hard part is over for him.

That is really an improvement mine is stuck at 7.5 for 12 months!
