acanthosis nigricans (brown spots) getting worse after weight loss and metformin???

I have never had the brown spots (acanthosis nigricans) anywhere on my body except a small patch on my back. Never at the base of my neck, or anywhere else. These spots are a result of the insulin resistance. Now, however, after LOSING 30 LBS, EATING NO SUGAR, LOW CARB, and being on METFORMIN, I am DEVELOPING THEM ON MY NECK!! What is this?? I am definitely calling my endo, but I was just wondering if this is at all possible? What is going on in my body?

Do you really think that you are developing them on your neck suddenly? It might be that losing fat in certain areas has made things more noticeable than previously.

I wonder if your IR is just getting worse or you have developed diabetes. You should get checked for both I would think.
