Unhappy Accutane and future pregnancies?

Hi Everyone,

Don't mean to scare anyone but my ob/gyn told me today that now there is some recent data that shows that Accutane might harm a woman's embryos, even after you have stopped taking it. Has anyone else heard anything about this or know of anyone who has had problems? (I hope not!).

I was on it ten years ago to cure cystic acne that was pretty much all over my body. It was the last available treatment after all other options were exhausted. Now I'm terrified about TTC with this news and feel guilty about taking it in the first place.

Any additional information or advice would be helpful.

THANK YOU!!!

I hadn't heard that news, but then again I don't really keep on it.

If it makes you feel any better, I took Accutane 7 years ago and am now pregnant with a healthy baby girl (as far as any testing can tell). I'm sure there's many, many women who've successfully given birth to healthy babies after taking Accutane prior.

Hi - I just wanted to say that I took accutane about 9 - 10yrs ago - I just had a baby a few weeks ago and he turned out great. I wouldnt worry to much about it. And dont feel guilty for taking it. Hope this eases your mind a little.
