Ok, I get the weight gain situation under control, but now my face is breaking out like a teenager. I have been on my full dose (2500 mg) of Metformin XR for about a week now. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found anything that has cleared it up? Due to my age, which is 35, I am concerned with wrinkles, so I want something that will work on that also.

UGHHHHH! Please help! If it ain't one thing, it is another!

Hi there, I have been taking Proactiv now for 2 years and its the only product that completely clears me up. As with most acne medications though, it can dry your skin. but I use a deep moisturizer with it so my skin is never dried out. After your skin has cleared up, they do have a gentler "maintenance" version.

my acne has been a roller coaster ride on Met. I get BAD breakouts when my hormones are shifting - which is more often since being on Met (which is the downside). But, after my period or while I'm just coasting, my skin has been overall better on Met. But yes, I get bad breakouts every 6 weeks or so - with not changing a single skin care regimen. My acne is totally hormone-related....
