Default acne is back - and on metformin!

Hi -

I am so frustrated - to say the least! I have been on metformin for four weeks now. I just started 1,500 mg today. Well since about last weekend my skin has been horrible! I am breaking out like crazy - and these zits hurt! My face is an absolute oil slick! I thought the metformin was supposed to help with this?

Could it just be a matter of my hormones readjusting? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks for letting me vent!

Sara : )

It could easily be your hormones readjusting themselves. It took a couple of months before my acne cleared itself up. It wasn't an immediate thing. Give it some time at 1500mg and see how it goes. Good luck!

P.S. My sympathies with your breakout. They really are painful things!

Thanks! I guess I just need to be patient. I hope the weight loss comes soon also! I agree - I really feel like my hormones are completely out-of-whack and I guess everyone will know it when they see my face! : )
