Default Acne in EYEBROWS?

Lately I have been having acne breakouts in my eyebrows. I don't mean around or near my eyebrows, I mean in the actual hairs themselves!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? How did you remedy it? I use Proactiv although frankly I don't think it is working anymore. I think it might be making things worse and the lotion just cakes and then flakes off. Attractive!

I start Met pretty soon so hopefully that will help but this is not only making me very self conscious but it is painful! The acne is cystic and extremely uncomfortable.

Thank you for any help.

Yes I have had this as well and still get some on occasions. Sometimes they will be little pustules where the hair is growing, like an ingrown..I use witch hazel astringent and just cheap acne lotions, I know they do get flakey if you use them but exfoliating is good for that too.

I used to get those; and they hurt too. I'd just wait for the white head to rise, and burst it. I used to use ProActive, but I thinl it quit working.

My goodness that's strange... I just had one of these, too! Although luckily for me it wasn't full-on cystic, it was large and painful.

Did it ever go away Lepus?

What helped mine was a combo of two things:
-aspirin mask:a few uncoated aspirin mixed in aloe gel. Since this was kinda close to the eye I used more aloe than aspirin, kept my eye shut until it dried, and kept a washcloth with me to make sure I could quickly catch any aspirin if it should happen to flake off and fall. I left it on for about an half and hour.

-Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask: This stuff is way too strong for my whole face, but I use it to spot treat bad zits and it works great. I put a blob on the zit, wait for it to dry, and slept with it on overnight. If the zit is REALLY close to your eye you might not want to sleep with it on though, just in case. Mine was in the top/front of my eybrow.

In a day it had shrunk a bit and looked a lot less irritated. It hung around for a while after that, and I just kept rubbing Persegel 10% on it nightly until after about a week when it finally gave up. I still have the dang red dot though and probably will for the next five years or so (grumble).

Hope it's better!
Dana
