Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of acne! I have more zits than I have ever had in my life! It is disgusting if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it!
Proactiv is the only thing that has helped me also. It can be pricey but it is well worth it. I did find that I couldn't use it as fast as they were shipping it out (every 2-3 months). I did try the Walmart knock off of Proactiv once, I didn't like it , I think it was the smell of it.
I recommend Proactiv. If you are not use to using Benzoyl Peroxide it might dry out your face, but then you just use the repair lotion just once a day instead of two.
I have just finished a 5 month cycle of Accutane, and so far it has worked wonders!!! YOU CANNOT TAKE THIS IF YOU ARE PREG, OR TRYING TO GET PREG!!!!!!
Now we just have to wait to see if the results last as long as they are supposed to.
So far so good!!
I'm glad to see that I have options! I ordered Proactive yesterday. It should be here next week! (a little Christmas present to myself) I will let you know how it goes! Right before my period my face was just covered with zits. It is clearing up a little but my skin needs a lot of work! I used to have the most beautiful, clear skin. It's sad to think of how many compliments I used to get on my skin. Now, no one says a word about it
I ordered Proactiv and have been using it faithfully for the past week and a half. I got a little clearer, but I woke up this morning with two new zits!!! Hey for fifty bucks, I want NO ZITS!! Am I just rushing this process, or am I getting ripped off???
Its only been a week and a half...some people don't get dramatic results for at least a month. Are the 2 new zits better than the 6 you'd get on a regular basis? When I used proactiv I saw a definate improvement but I did get a zit here and there. NO product is going to eliminate all acne, I don't care what the bottle claims. The question is do you see an improvment? If you do isn't that better than having a face full of zits? give it more time hun,
you just have to be alittle more patient.
I looked at your profile and see you are about 28 or so. I say ditch the proactive and get a prescription for spironolactone from your derm. Read my post in the Acne section for a brief explanation of why.
Well, I have had persistent acne and very oily skin since age 11 (I'm 24 now), with mostly jawline acne for the past 4 years. I started drinking green tea 2 weeks ago, and I have noticed a dramatic decrease in my acne. For the first time in 4 years my jawline and chin are clear. There are compounds in green tea that are anti-androgenic, and apparently they are pretty effective, at least for me they have been. I drink 6-8 cups a day. I also have stopped using all commercial facial care products, and I just use pure jojoba oil mixed with a few drops of lavender and tea tree essential oil to wash my face with (massage into dry face and then rinse with warm water). I also use this combo sparingly as a moisturizer. I learned that this cleans out the pores after several weeks and regulates oil production, and that seems to be working as well. Maybe not the advice that you were looking for, but just wanted to share what's been working for me
