Default acne on jawline

I have been working really hard to lose weight and get my PCOS symptoms under control. I have lost about 25 pounds and am now having regular cycles. (Also on Metformin for the last two years). SO most of my acen is getting better. Except I keep getting these horrible horrible cyst like pimples on my jawline. I never had them before when my PCOS symptoms were much much worse. Before one even clears up, there is another coming in directly under it.

I am going to make an appointment with a dermatologist on Monday. I know acne on the jawline is common for PCOS patients. Can any one tell me why exactly? And are there other kinds of treatments that work better for this kind of acne?

Default my story is so similar

The acne on the jawline is hormonal. because PCOS ladies have extra hormones and produce more androgens we get more cystic acne on the jawline. I've had the same experience after losing 20 lbs and using Met. I wish I could tell you of a treatment that works better. As you'll probably see when reading the posts here, most of us are trying something new, continually on the search for a routine or product that will work.

My personal experience has been having to cut out sugar from my diet. When I splurge on a dessert I wake up the next morning with 3 or 4 painful, itchy, burning cysts on my jawline. Now, cutting out sugar hasn't made it go away 100%. I still struggle! But it's definitely better. one thing that has helped me when they are so painful is to ice my jaw... they swelling of the cysts go down and the pain is much less.

If you are not trying to conceive there are different kinds of drugs the Dr can prescribe. Read through some of the posts here. Hopefully you'll find something that you can try.

Working on getting to my "ideal" weight. Approach: no sugar and weight training. Right now the symptoms of PCOS are being managed by 1500mg of Metformin and Seasonique birth control. My acne is gone (Praise God!) and I feel great as long as I stay away from sugar and dairy (darn metformin).

I also have pimples in my jawline and neck, ive had this before i knew i had PCOS, i went to a dermatologist and she gave me clindamycin lotion which i apply AM and PM it helped a lot but after a while i got tired of applying it everyday so i stopped and it came back, now i have them all over my jawline and neck, i usually like to wear shirts with collars or better yet turtlenecks to hide them. right now i am drinking a chinese beverage called sheshe cao i just started drinking it this week, it is said to cure pimples it tastes like honey i will write a post if it is really effective.
