Default This acne must go away! (newly diagnosed)

This is the most zits I've ever had in my life...I'm 30!! I had a really nice complexion ONCE. Seems like PCOS hit me all at once over the last year. Except for the irregular periods that I've had ever since my first one. I have issues with a lot of facial soaps and astringents, etc. I found a good facial soap-Eucern (sp?) that is great....but does anyone have a recommendation for a good zit zapper for somewhat sensitive skin? Please don't make me order Proactiv...I have issues with supporting Jessica Simpson. ugh...gag me.

Hey!!

I know exactly what you mean about the acne. I had perfect clear skin while growing up, thenwhen I turned 21 ---- BAM! it was like overnight I woke up to a face I didn't recognize. now I'm 30 and still battleing it. I know you said you didn't want a suggestion for Proactiv - and frankly, I don't want to support Jessica Simpson either, but it did work for me. I am in the process of trying to find something that is all natural fro when I get pregnant and I'm not having any luck. The only thing that's worked for me is the Proactiv. Hopefully other cysters will see your post and give you other advice. You may want to check out the acne threads, there are some suggestions there for you.

Love ya cyster!!!

I feel the same exact way lorikat!!! Now not only do we have to start worrying about wrinkles but acne too. I never had any growing up - then just like you said BAM!! and I know how you feel about everything get worse in the last year - same here. I to am using proactiv - and I hate to tell you that when I am disciplined and use it am and pm everyday like I am suppose to it works!

Jessica Simpson isn't the only one who promotes it if that helps!! LOL

Default One another thing.......

Hey cysters, one other thing I forgot go mention earlier, on a thread I had found about acne, the cysters were suggesting that Mineral Make-up and one cyster recommened a cheaper version of the Bare escentals called Mineral Glitters.......It's awesome!!! IT cover wonderfully. I think it's pretty reasonably priced too.

heres the link: http://www.mymineralglitters.com/page/page/3390736.htm

and as for the proactiv, it really does work, it's the best thing I've ever tried.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!!

Lot of love cysters!!!

Welcome Lori,

From what I understand, acne is related to the hormonal condition PCOS and by getting your hormones in check you should see a clearer face. Topical treatments are sometimes not as effective as hormone treatment and a healthy diet. Also, people with sensitive skin can actually exacerbate their condition by applying some treatments to their skin. I would recommend consulting with an Endocrinologist as well as a Dermatologist to see if you can get a combined treatment plan to alleviate the acne.

Jen
