I just wanted to throw a quick question out. For those of you with some acne (like me), does anyone just have it in certain areas of their face? I only get acne around my mouth - my upper lip, sides of lips, and chin. Does anyone else experience anything like this? Acne only in certain areas? I used to think I was breaking out because I had stopped taking BCP's, but now I'm thinking I'm breaking out as a symptom of PCOS.
I read somewhere that PCOS-ers mostly get acne on the lower-third of their face. And yes, my acne is primarily situated around my jawline. I'm not sure why this is, but it does seem to be characteristic of PCOS.
When my PCOS was at its worst, I also got acne on my chest and upper back.
Mine is exactly the same - around my mouth, jaw and chin.

Dx: Still working on being diagnosed. First discovered PCOS 2 years ago aged 20.
Sx: Irregular periods, persistant acne, weight gain (not excessive), hirsutism. As a result, very low self esteem, but working on fixing this! My cousin has also recently been diagnosed.
Action: Taking BCP Dianette for my skin. Taking up running and eating a healthy diet to ease symptoms. Trying to stay positive!
My acne has been like that in the past too. I used to have acne on just my cheeks and jawline, but my forehead, nose, and chin would always be super dry. It was weird. Now I have acne all over my face, but concentrated on my jawline and cheeks.

Feel free to ask me about hyperprolactinemia though, just had my prolactinoma removed through brain surgery. Happier and healthier already... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 0 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Since stopping BCP, for the first time ever in my life I got acne on my chest and back. It's almost impossible to get rid of! Although, now it's a lot calmer.
I've always had it on my face, although through the years it's changed.
Now, I'm off BCP, and on MET, my cystic acne has almost disappeared, BUT, I have very oily and pimply skin, mostly in the t-zone...but also loads of blackheads and small pimples on my cheeks, jawline and hairline (sigh). I guess this is just from the oily skin.
No acne cream or cleansig regime seems to work for me, except for getting my skin professionally cleansed and microdermabrasion regularly (around 6-7 times per year). I've always had acne issues though.

I have not been diagnosed with PCOS....have an utlrasound on Thursday to help determine...but I have acne around my temples, hairline and mouth. Drives me nuts as I never really had acne as a teenager...only recently and now oily skin.
