Default Acne and Rosacea anyone???

Hey there,

I have acne and rosacea. So essentially, I get zits and severe sensitivity and redness. If I eat or drink something that makes me flush (or get happy, excited, nervous, etc and flush) then I go red and stay red for a long time. So I am using cetaphyl which is gentle, but not so great for the zitties which I seem to be getting more of now that I'm on Met. Any ideas? I can't use harsh zit stuff because of the sensitive nature of my rosacea-prone skin. I am so annoyed. I look like a pizza.

Smile me too

www.rosacea.org

I've got Rosacea too, although my derm refuses to give me any type of diagnosis. Anyway, I know how you feel!!

I was on Amoxicillin for the acne & Rosanil Cleanser & Clindamycin gel for the redness(all prescrip). This was working great for me until I got scared to be on antibiotics for too long. Also, I want to get preg soon so I knew I'd have to get off the other two eventually. My skin is gradually getting worse again now & it's sooo frustrating!

I've seriously tried everything under the sun... prescrip & nonprescrip... it is so hard to find something that works. I don't use anything unless it says "sensitive skin" & I avoid fragrance in anything going on my face. I use Olay gentle foaming face wash for sensitive skin as a morning cleanser & Olay unscented sensitive skin bar soap in the eve to remove makeup(its not drying like other bar soaps). I generally like Olay products... they seem to irritate me the least. I even had problems with Cetaphyl cuz it was too harsh for me! Yikes! I also use Neutrogena on the spot acne treatment but lately it has kinda stopped working.

I'm sure this doesn't help much, but just wanted to say I'm in the same boat & if anyone has any suggestions I'd like to hear them too!!

Default acne and rosacia

since you have rosacia do not use anything that has exfoliating crystals that will make your problem act up. When using a moisturizer you should be using very little. a lot of people tend to put too much moisturizer on, you should put just a few dots on your face and pulling the product from one part of your face to the other. you shouldn't feel wet or greasy when done. as far as acne e-mail my personal address bchouest21@hotmail.com, i can possibly help you find a very gentle cleanser that you will see great results in just a week.

Default

A few more tips...

My derm told me long ago not to use anything with an alcohol base on my face (later he gave me a sample with this & I burned up... careless derm)

Also, for moisturizer I use Olay Complete Sensitive Skin all day w/ spf 15. It doesn't get greasy & doesn't clog my pores.

I have found lately that I can use Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub on occasion. I tried to push the limits though & got really red. Now I just use it every other day or less often. It works really well to even out my skin texture. It is the only scrub I have ever been able to use on my face. The beads are very small, soft, & gentle. It works well on my body breakouts too. But, if you have really bad rosacea I would not recommend it for the face.
