Sorry I am slow to reply - broken computer.......

I will get the recipe and post it on here for anyone who is interested in the scar remover - it is a hard site to navigate - but her book is really interesting and the scar treatment quite amazing.

There is also this other stuff (probably not the professional term) called skinclean it cleans the skin so smooth it is amazing. It is available at skinclean.com and I have it sent to Australia and it only takes about 10 days to get here.

Another product for instant disguise is the clinique pore refiner cream, there are 3 products I am just using the instant perfector I think it is called - it is pretty good on disguising pores........

There is a new although quite expensive about $5 thousand Australian for a procedure which involves growing your own collagen and having it injected back into your scars. It is about another 6 months away from Australia but I believe it is available in the US already. The results are permanent so I will definately be heading in that direction when I can afford it.

Good luck everyone.

Lightbulb The Recipie for Essential Oil Scar Remover

Here is the ingredients for the scar remover

12oz jojoba essential oil
4 drops lemon oil
2 drops of myrrh oil
2 drops of frankincense oil
2 drops of rose geranium oil

Shake it up and rub it in a circular motion - it smells wonderful and makes your skin feel great - important note though it is not to be used on active acne.

Best of luck

I went out and got some jojoba oil after reading this thread. Personally, my acne problem is about two pimples all of the time (one fades and a new one comes) and then a breakout before my period (which is virtually never). The big problem for me is that all of these pimples leave red spots that stay for WEEKS, with the result being that my entire chin is basically a giant red lingeting acne spot.

So I got the jojoba oil and have been using it for about a week, and it has made a HUGE difference. The spots are almost all gone, and the ones that are still there are paler. It hasn't made my pimples stop cropping up, but it hasn't made more come either, which is fantastic. Before, I would cover my chin in concealer before going out, and now I feel pretty good with nothing. I am very happy with it.

One note: I only use it at night because it does make my face a bit shiny, but the oily look is always gone by morning. As an added bonus, my skin is very soft!

Hey you use skin biology copper products too? Yeah people, its good for acne scars, and for skin elasticity..if you have really oily skin get the CP serum..thats what I used to use, cuz its thin and water based..but now I get the protect and restore basic without retinol..its oil free but its a very rich moisturizing cream with the same copper as in the serum, i have acne but sensitive skin with dry spots and oily slicks, I love it. If you have pock marks though..you probalbly will need a dermatologist but the copper will help some.. I've heard diamond microdermabrasion and certain superficial laser treatments can help (but don't get the laser 'resurfacing' those are major surgery, there are a lot of new lasers that don't cause any downtime) plus there are some kind of incision surgery thats older, but that probably causes some more scarring. and yeah like retin-a, glycolic acid, or salicyclic acid will exfoliate the scars away and the copper will rebuild your skin, it should help (you can get exfol serum and cp serum from www.skinbio.com)

Default Mederma

I have used Mederma for a variety of scars and scarring and it has worked wonders for me. However, I cannot use it on my face at all. Also, Mederma always works best on any scar if you can use it as soon as the wound heals.

There are laser treatments that are said to work wonders with acne scarring.

It might mean "underminning". I have had that done 2 times, plus afterwards dermasanding. The doctor takes a needle and kind of uncriss-crossing the scar tissue. It ain't pleasant, but can be endured when you have enough drugs in ya (like valium).

My doctor recommended one more underminning to me but I am putting it off right now.

My scars are STILL THERE after 2 procedures however they are a lot less. Mine were pretty severe. Some think I should get more work done on them but I live in California where everyone must look perfect to look beautiful.

(BTW, the scars do not show up in most photos. They are more noticeable in person).

Default my cosmeceuticals saga

I use have used:
-copper peptide serum from www.platinumskincare.com
-Elicina from www.bioskincare.com
-and retin-A.

I had purple cystic acne scars and pitted scars.

Results:
-copper peptide gave me blackheads but made my skin tighter and slowly started improving my scars. I got impatient.

-the Elicina is FAB! and even gets rid of the redness of currrent acne. It is making my acne better and is stripping scars in a matter of days! It is even making a raised scar from my childhood disappear!

-The retin-A worked was just too harsh and left white patches on my face.

Default reducing hyperpigmentation and acne scars

Lustra AF (available by prescription) is one of the hydroquinone (sp?) creams that's good for hyperpigmentation and scaring. It didn't work all that well for me, but there are lots who swear by it. Any fade cream formulated for women of colour is a good option and usually inexpensive; Ambi Skin Tone Cream and Black Opal Fade Recovery Complex are two good ones. Serious Skin Care (available through eBay or the home shopping network www.hsn.com) has great products too but they're pricey. I like all the products they've introduced though.

If you're looking for a treatments to address skin's texture lots have suggested peels and dermabrasion or microdermabrasion and these are really your best bet. The kind of treatments aestheticians use are available online or at places like Sephora or go cheaper and bid for them on eBay. Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion in a Jar is really great and really works I've purchased it for myself, my mother and my sisters. It's 75 USD for a 1oz. jar retail (ouch!) but I found three through eBay for that same amount.

Good Luck!

Nope, that's not what I meant by needling.

Needling is a revolutionary new scar treatment that the yahoo group for acne scars I mentioned has a lot of information on.

Basically, scars are formed when there is thick, bonded skin tissue underneath the surface layer of skin, which explains why you can kind of sand off a thin layer of skin but later, the exact same scars appear again. This is because the underlying connections have not been severed and the scar causes your skin to keep growing in the same shape.

After all, the skin on your face is not the same skin cells you had a year ago or even a month ago! The reason why a scar "stays" there is because of how the skin tissue is creating a tight, inflexible band of scar tissue that causes the skincells to keep growing in that same, altered way.

Needling involves a nearly painless treatment of a fine needle going into the skin (think of acupuncture but more painless), that also penetrates deeply enough to break up the deeper bonds of scars and break them up for good.

Hang on, let me see if I can find a link for you.....

Okay, here it is.

http://www.geocities.com/grege20815/...upportgrp.html
This is the support group I mentioned for acne scars. The guy who runs it very nice, very cool, and has tried the needling procedures himself more than once. This group can provide quite a bit of information and first-hand reports of using needling to eliminate scars.

PLUS, get this.

Needling is CHEAP.

Love to all sisters,

Hi

I have a lot of little red scars left over from previous breakouts..... I read somewhere on this post that jojoba oil helps this problem.

Can you get this at HF stores? Is it a cream or in oil form?

Thanks!!

If you have spots leftover from pimples, I would suggest going tanning, it tends to help the scars (red spots) as well as the pimples.

i was told by my derma that microdermobrasion is nothing but a waste of money. and he said it takes about a year, but scarring with heal and fade away naturally. i still want it gone sooner, so i'm going to another derma to ask about chemical peels. he won't do it, since he doesn't believe in it.
