I am starting to get scars from years of plucking-potholes and the brown spots as well. Some of the posts in this thread are from 2003...and there have been a lot of new products on the market since then. I'm wondering what brand names work for potholes and for fading scars. I just don't want to spend money on things that aren't going to work Should I do a peel?? I'm really not sure what route to take, any advice would be wonderful! Thanks

Usually when I get cystic acne it leaves a dark spot. I'm veryfair so it's very obvious. What works for me is religiously putting Retna A no the spot until it fades and exfoliating with the Mary Kay Micro exfoliator. I hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the information! I looked at the link, but can't seem to get beyond the mineral makeup page....? Am I missing something?
I had acne really bad when I was 15, and was put on acutane which helped rid most of it. Now I just get break outs like a normal person. Bleh. I do have a lot of little white scars all over my back which my dermatologist TOLD me were supposed to go away. Let me see... they haven't! They're not noticeable from a distance, just annoying.
I am a believer in essential oils, so I am definitely interested in anything that I can learn about this. I actually have just been treating my husband's cold by massaging ravensara along the spine. That is supposedly where viruses sit... and then on the feet in order to absorb into his body. They say that your body absorbs 10 times more through the skin than through the stomach, and it only makes sense to me to go natural.
I also used home remedies to treat my husband when he had the shingles and it rid him of that much faster than the stupid and overly priced cream that the doctor prescribed. The doctor later scolded me for one of the methods used, and I wanted so bad to tell him that it worked better than his treatment.

I have acne scars too. My dermatologist wanted to do a chemical pill, but i am a chicken so i said no. I am not a makeup type person so I really need some advice on how to get rid of the dark spots.

I have these scars on my chin. To add to that, I also have skin darkening on the sides of my mouth. If I don't use a good foundation, it really shows and I have gotten quite conscious about it. I really don't know what product I should use. I went to a dermatologist and she said that it must be due to my toothpaste! Oh brother!

ANCE IS SOMETHING THAT I HAVE ALWAYS HAD...EVEN HAD DARKENING OF THE FACE AT ONE POINT. MY FACIAL SCARS ALWAYS TEND TO DISAPPEAR BUT THE ONES ON MY BACK NEVER DO (AFRAID I'M STUCK WITH THEM FOR LIFE) BUT i FOUND THAT A COMBINATION OF AMBI PRODUCTS WORKS SUCH AS THEIR SPF LOTION, FADE CREAM, & FACIAL SCRUB....MY BODY IS STILL WORKING OVER TIME TO GET ME BUT WHENEVER I DO BREAK OUT AT LEAST THE REST OF MY FACE LOOKS GREAT LOL (I CAN WASH MY FACE ANYWHERE FROM 2-5 TIMES A DAY DEPENDING ON HOW OILY IT GETS)

I also have scars from acne, I would love to get rid of them.
But to tell the truth I do not have a lot of problems with acne since I started medication (metformin) it does break out once a month during my period accompanying the pain and mood swings (as if that was not enough...) but usually with those small red painful dots, but they usually disappear after my period ends.
What helps me is tea tree oil cream and wace wash, or the face wash from neutrogena with salicilic acid.

Has anyone ever tried Bio Oil and had good results?? I've just started using it a week ago, not seeing any amazing results yet, but I'm going to give it a few months.

I usually use whatever I find with tea tree oil to wash or treat my face, and
make-up or powder with salicylic acid. Both do amazing things to my face. I used to get prescription stuff, but these two do a better job.

Hi,
You can try fish oil with omega 3, this can help in your acne too. Or try to use Xtend Life Products. They have a lot of products for skin. Maybe this can help you.

Well, I found a *huge* patch of wild roses with hips still on in absolutely beautiful shape, so I'm going to pick up some almond oil tomorrow and make up a batch of rosehip oil in my slow cooker. I've been using rosehip balm I made a while ago, and it's certainly helping the scars on my legs, so I'm going to try out the oil on my face. I haven't wanted to try the balm on my face because it's too thick and I know it'll cause me to break out.

I'll let you ladies know how it goes with the rosehip oil. Almond oil isn't particularly expensive, and roses grow everywhere, so it should be a cheap remedy anyone can make if it works.
