i've actually found that the less aggressive i am, the better my skin is. i've been a fan of basis's soap free cleanser for several years and really do credit it with keeping my skin looking great.

sometimes, around my period, i need some topical stuff or a bit of astringent, but i really have found that LESS IS MORE.

I've tried plenty of things for my skin. Proactiv actually did not work for me that well... it dried my face out in a few days and I discontinued use. Right now I use ageless thermal cleanser by avon. Although I am way too young to be using it.. it seems to help my skin ALOT. I notice that if I don't use it every day at least once, I break out.

The Body Shop does not test on animals or use animal hair in any of their products or accessories. We are owned by L'Oreal but we still have kept to our core values. We have tea tree skin care line and some wonderful face masks to help with acne on face (or back!)

Talking Great For Acne!

I am actually an esthetician and have tried EVERYTHING for acne including accutane (twice) I love retin-a micro but stopped using it when I was trying to get prego. I found this line called Sage Advice Skin Care. It is a GODSEND!!!! I think the website is zerozits.com and 1st time customers can get the acne try me pack so you can try out a few different things cheaper. They also have a huge list of acne causing ingredients so you can check your makeup and moisturizers for any culprit ingredients! If anyone has any acne questions, feel free to send me a message! Trust me, I'm a veteran! LOL!

2 weeks ago I got a tip from a dermatologist. Wash your face with dandruff shampoo. So I did and 2 weeks later NO ACNE! none! My face has never been this clear! I wash my face every morning when I take a shower with just walmart brand regular dandruff shampoo. A while ago a friend of mine let me use her clindimyacin (?). That worked REALLY well, you put it on the acne and it dries it up and disappears in a couple days. try the dandruff shampoo! GL!

I have tried Proactive and it just didn't work for me. Orthro-Tri cyline Lo BC pills worked the best for my acne, but I gained a lot of weight on that BC pill. Now I use a clean and clear face wash and I use Benza-clin gel on my acne. Plus the secret to getting acne clear is WATER, WATER, WATER, and more WATER!!! Doctors say what you eat and drink does not affect your acne, they are wrong. It does make a difference. SO DRINK some H2O!!!

I was just going to post almost the same thing! I actually just use warm water and a washcloth, a few times a day. And when I have a breakout, I sometimes use Noxema, but not often. less is more IMO.

Get involved in animal rescue. You won't be sorry. Your heart may break, there may be times when your eyes are red-rimmed for days. You may lose faith in the goodness of people, but your spirit will be renewed by the resilience of those you save. It isn't easy, but it's worth it. I promise you, you will be forever changed.

In the evening, I wash with SpectroGel and use Panoxyl (benzyl perioxide). In the morning, I wash my face with St. Ives Apricot scrub and use a locally made (farmer's market) goat milk moisturiser during the day.
Seems (fingers crossed) to be working well for now.

oh cool thanks for the reply. I am visiting a derma tomorrow and hopefully i will get some answers as to what will work. I know everyone tries different things and obviously different products will work a certain way on dif people. Good luck with your regiment. I'm sure it'll continue to work for you.

I had acne as a teen, and only occasionally as an adult (I'm almost 40). Once I went off BCP and started ttc, my acne exploded on my face, and also on my shoulders/neck.

I've found DHC (dhccare.com) facial cleansing oil at night and Obagi foaming gel in the morning help to keep my face in check, with occasional benzoyl peroxide use for the bad problem areas (only every other day for 2 or 3 nights). My friend (who has moderate acne) started on the cleansing oil and I saw her face transform over a month or so at work, so I asked her what she was using. I love the oil! Seems counter-intuitive to use oil on oily/acne skin, but oil gets rid of oil. She also turned me on to the DHC co-enzyme Q10 facial film soap that I use if the benzoyl peroxide has dryed out my skina bit.

My shoulders and neck are another story - nothing seems to work here and I've *never* had any acne there :-(
