I was referred to a dermatologist recently and after years of spending thousands on all kinds of remedies and creams, lotions and potions - she simply said to me to cut down on moisturiser!! So in the morning, I cleanse and cream as usual and in the evening I just wash with a little soap and water and leave my skin as that. I was worried that my skin would be really dry, but the lady explained that our skin can become addicted to all the cream that we put on it and if you leave it natural, it will be able to take care of itself. Obviously I was very sceptical of this !!! But it really had started to work !

Otherwise I use mineral foundation so that it doesnt clog my skin up - I've found that really good too.

I've found using Fresh Farmacy cleanser from Lush a real help for my problem skin, I still get outbreaks but no where near as bad. Also if you suffer from it on your back they do a buttercream wash called Lemslip that's really good for that and has helped clear my back up a bit.
The good thing with the Lush stuff is that it's mostly free from chemicals etc so doesn't tend to be as harsh on your skin
