Okay, this is a little bit embarrassing to talk about but I need to find out if I am alone on this one.
I read through research that of all the women that have PCOS, it is very rare to find a woman with an enlarged clitoris. Because of the high testosterone levels a woman can actually have a larger than normal clitoris.
When I was having my pelvic exam done the doctor had two students with him. I heard him say to them. "Here we have an enlargement of the clitoris which tells us that her testosterone levels are going to be significantly high."
He actually never said anything to me, only to the students. He is a good doctor and he probably didn't see a point in telling me. However, I am starting to wonder if this is actually as rare as they say it is.
He was right though. When I got my labs back, my testosterone was through the roof. Some of the highest that he has ever seen.
Am I normal??

I bet it is common for this disease. I never really thought about it, now I wonder if mine is enlarged. Probably is, just another thing to add to the list of abnormalities.

No worries. Your normal. And you are definately not alone, I know a few others who have the same issue. **hugs** Besides- it gives you a point of reference on where you really need to focus with treatment.
Don't you just hate it when doctors don't feel the need to discuss what your body is doing with you but can when there is students around?? I mean really. I promise I won't ever do that when I get through med school...

I have very high testosterone and my clit is pretty big too. Not like the kind you see on fetish porn sites, but certainly not tiny and cutesie.

You know, I have never concidered the size of my clit. I don't know what a normal size is. I do know that my testosterone levels are really high. Now I might have to go searching so nudie magazines to compare!!
Thanks for the support!! I didn't realize that there were so many of us out there. It's nice to be able to find some humor in all this mess called PCOS!

By default all babies in utero are female. With the introduction of either testosterone or estrogen the sexual organs are formed. In adulthood, although a clitoris is formed it is still subject to testosterone or androgen influence, meaning in other words that the clitoris is a tiny penis (the length of it actually runs down your pelvic bone) if you will and responds by growing larger with male hormones that seem to run rampant in us. All that said no worries...biggger clit...more fun....
Hi, I think my is larger than normal, but my husband loves it and its good for me..lol You know I even went online a couple years ago just to see if it was normal and really could not find anything except pornography.. So I guess we are not freaks.. just more enhanced
