Default acupuncture...

Hey everyone...
I am meeting with a Chinese medical doctor next week to make a treatment plan for my PCOS. I am currently in a long wait to see a gyno/obgyn to start TTC and I wanted to try this in the meantime. I know a woman who successfully restored ovulation and became pregnant after beginning acupuncture, changing her diet and taking herbs. My question is... all I know is my LH and FSH has the 3:1 ratio, I rarely get my period and I have mild hursitism. I don't want to feel skeptical but I sort of do about the natural medicine. Anybody have success stories to bring me hope? I am hoping so much that this will help me start ovulating...
Thanks!

I've been receiving acupuncture treatments twice a week for a month and a half now, as well as taking herbs. My acupuncturists are specialized in reproductive acupuncture, and they have me chart my basal body temperatures, as well as answer questions about various symptoms each time they see me.

Before I started acupuncture, I was convinced that I'd never ovulated in my life. My periods are incredibly erratic when left to their own devices. However, every cycle that I've been charting (a half-cycle, a short cycle, and the current cycle), the acupuncturists can point to a spot and say I probably ovulated there. I always find out about it after the fact, so I haven't been able to confirm it with an OPK. However, what I can clearly see is that my BBT chart is drastically different this cycle than it was in either of the last two cycles.

I've got no proof of success so far, but I have evidence of progress! I'm feeling good about the improvements we've made.

I hope you have great success with acupuncture, as well.

Hello Ladies,
I've been recieving acupunture for the past 8 months now. I went from having 2-3 periods a year to 6 periods over the last 8months, including one miscarriage, or chemical pregnancy. Since my m/c my cycles have sort of dissappeared. But I'm guessing it might have something to do with us moving in the last two months, switching acupunturists and the m/c throwing my hormones outta wack.
I've just placed an order for DCI that I'm hoping will help me with my insulin resistance and help me ovulate again.
Bottom line, acupunture is definately helpful but not without exercise and good diet.
Good luck!

I am going for my first acupuncture appt tomorrow! I am hopeful it will greatly help me as well. I was ovulating before my missed miscarriage and d&c in January, but ever since have not ovulated at all. I am hopeful that the acupuncture combined with Vitex and eating well and exercising will help bring me more regular cycles.... here's to hoping!

I love my acupuncture! It has made my periods much more regular and according to my temps, I have ovulated almost every month. No baby yet, but I feel almost like a "normal" person! :-) No complaints here....Good luck!!!!!
