Default Add up to PCOS?

Well let me say first I am brand new here. Forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place. This seemed the best avenue.

I just need some thoughts of others, please!

When I was a teenager I had very irregular painful periods-I never had acne, and I was not overweight. I went on BCP and was on it for 3yrs before going on the patch. I was on that for one year and went off it in June of 04. Between July and Dec I had 4 periods. Between Dec and July 05, I had 1 and it was induced by progesterone.

My Dr was a real pin head and based on all the symptoms I gave her-irregular or no periods, acne, and slight weight gain, facial hair, and with the results of the blood tests being high in testosterone and low in estrogen (I thought I would end up a dude by the time it was all said and done)-she never thought to test me for pcos. Instead she told me I was infertile and that was just it. Period. No Period. No babies. Sorry! Bummer! Not lol.

So a few months later in June 05, something didn't seem right so I took a PT, and it was positive. Go friggin figure. So since I had not had a period since April we had no idea how far along I was. So I was referred to an ultrasound office and the Dr there said shocked 'oh you have pcos!' Wasn't that nice?? Then he informed me I was 6wks along. So I told my dimwitted doctor what was told and she said 'huh.' Like what? I was her first patient? No further testing was done as I was pg. I did have a high sugar test and then was referred for the fasting glucose test. It also came back slightly higher than they'd like and they said I would need another test in a month. Never was done.

So all the obvious symptoms I think I have and can blame pcos for-if indeed I have it. Its the not so obvious ones I am wondering about. Like YIs? Is it really possible to have YIs caused by pcos? Its either pcos, diabetes, or something else really terrible. I am losing my mind and drowning in anxiety! ahhh!

So now I have no insurance and I am waiting for new insurance to kick in before I can go to the dr. I'm just wondering what any of you may think about all of this.

ANY thoughts may be helpful. Thanks!
