Default Adding a new antidepressant

Went to see the pysch nurse practioner yesterday. We discussed how I was doing and feeling.Along with my wellbutrin I am going to be taking Lexapro. She feels this should get me back to normal. She also gave me names for counsleors to see since I do need to do that.Sad thing is tho I cant afford the medication for another 2 weeks since DH had lost his job and I am the only one working. So I just have to wait.

The nurse also said that how I feel about my weight isnt helping either.I wanted to say no kidding. She said once I get some weight off i would feel any better.I just wanted to scream that I am trying but nothing is helping. But I didnt.Just very down and frustrated with that aspect right now.Along with other things.I am also begining to wonder since I am unhappy in my marriage if that is adding up to everything. My next step is to get into counseling to help sort it all out.

i'm glad you are at least going to see someone, if you cant get the meds yet. hope you can get in quick!

i am suffering with depression as well. its not a fun thing by any stretch of the imagination. i'm on two antidepressants, and seeing a therapist next week. i'm kind of dreading talking to a new person- it seems as though i have too much to say just to get her caught up with the whys of my feelings (death of son, tons of self imposed stress, stepson in distress and too 'needy' for me to help him at 16 years old). my stepson is really an anger and stress trigger for me, and it doesnt help my pcos symptoms and depression.

it takes strength just to get to the doctor and ask for help. i commend you your strength.

I agree with bancher, I was forced to see a counselor by the director of my grad school department and I'm so glad I was because I never would have done it on my own. It takes so much strength to ask for the help you need. Are you going to be taking the wellbutrin and lexapro at the same time of day or one in the morning and one at night? I would suggest taking the lexapro in the morning. When I was on it I had trouble falling asleep if I took it later in the day. I had to go on trazadone for awhile to help me sleep while I was on lexapro. Now I am supposed to be taking wellbutrin xl, but I don't have health insurance and paying for all my meds out of pocket is getting to be too much. I know I shouldn't have just completely stopped taking it, but I can't get on the drug company's patient assistance plan because they say I make too much money. I used to get free samples of Lexapro from my doc; have you asked about them? The companies usually only give the samples for a certain period of time, but it can't hurt to ask.

oh, you must feel rotton!!! i'm so sorry you have had to wait so long. this mony thing really sucks when you dont have it!

just hang tight! i know it hurts, but you have to fight it!

i am starting to see the results of taking my meds faithfully. one problem i have- other than the money thing- is when i feel better and have been on them a while i start forgetting, and then forget to get the refills, so i get back to square one where i want to run off the road or something. i had my first therapy session today, and i think i really need to be with these tools indefinately!

hope you get some relief soon!
