    Question Adenomyosis- anyone have this?

I went to the doctor today and got a follow up on the ultrasounds I had about 3 weeks ago. Well they found that I have either polyps or fibroids in my uterine muscle wall. I think it's polyps because I had them in 2001 and I found out that they can recur every 5-7 years after getting them removed. Well, it's been 5 years, so...anyhow...they told me I had Adenomyosis and instead of getting an endometrial biopsy like they said I needed at first, now I am being recommended to have a partial hysterectomy. While on one hand I am totally fine with that (because my uterus is now problematic), it does sadden me a bit. I am getting a second opinion from a GYN of course, but still.

Anyhow, does anyone have this and what have you done to treat it? BCP? They think that besides the ovarian cysts that I have, that the Adenomyosis is causing the pelvic pain as well.

So anyone with knowledge, let me know, please. I would appreciate it! Thank you!

I get terrible pelvic pain only when I have my period... So there's some debate as to whether I might have Emdo... aden causes constant pain doesn't it?

I'm unsure what to suggest... though hysterectomy is a major step to take... i'd certainly get several other opinions before taking that route...

I can only pray that they find an alternate less extreme way to treat it...
Best of luck! I wish I could be more help

Yes, aden. does cause constant pelvic pain and it's something that everyone should enquire about if they have it at all times. I've had this pain for years now and just chalked it up to ovarian cysts but I guess it was the aden. overall.

I'm actually hoping to get that partial hysterectomy now, because I think that is what is causing the muscle weakness. My theory is the uterus is enlarged (like what happens with aden.) and is possibly pushing on nerves. If it fixes half of the problems I've been having, it's worth it.

    Thank you.
