Exclamation Adhesions !!!!

Hello Kat, ive been on this site for a few months now but i cant seem to find any information to help me on this particular subject anyway, im Kell im from kent,uk, diagnosed 1998 im 28 no children but really deperate, i had a laparascopy on 22nd december 2001 which consisted of ovarian drilling and dye put through my tubes, when i went back to go through what had been found they said i had adhesions on my left wall and tube and now im unsure what that is, ive been in touch with my loal gp to referr me back to my gyn as its been 6 years since ive had any treatment cause we were told after my laparacopy and the mutiltude of medications they tryed that we only had ivf and were not willing to go through that, so we were basically kicked out the door, and ive not been under a doctor or gyn since then, but i know time isn't on my side so i went back to my gp who wrote a letter to my specialist and i just have to wait for them to send me an appointment to which i will ask about this but also if i can be put on Metformin and what else has changed and is there anything new out there i havent been offered. Im currently taking a prenatal tablet and a vitamin b complex ( which i stared taking last month, the b complex that is) as it helped with the painful period cramps i suffer with instead of taking co-codamol. Anyway if you have an answer or any information on the adhesions and why they are there please email me Kell2831@tiscali.co.uk
Many thanks
Kell

I dont have them that I know of but here's a little information on them. It sounds painful, Im sorry your going through it. It sounds like it comes from previous surgery or trauma to the pelvic area.

Here's a little more information from the article about them, it could be from an infection also.

Adhesions usually occur in response to trauma, injury of various kinds and are an almost inevitable outcome of surgery, although this is not always the case. Any peritoneal injury can result in fibrous Adhesion formation. Adhesions have been found in patients undergoing first time surgery. For example, infection, endometriosis, chemotherapy, Radiation and cancer may damage tissue and initiate Adhesions.

During my laparoscopy, they found adhesions also - which they were expecting to find. For me, it's scar tissue from endometriosis, and the adhesions are how they diagnose endo. They usually laser them out during the laparoscopy. If you find yourself having abnormal pain during AF, it's often endo. I get horrible backaches just before and during AF.
