Hi Becs
I haven't gone through it but we have investigated it. For us it would be difficult because we are of irish ethnicity and social services try to place kids with families of the same ethnicity (I can understand their reasons why). But I would encourage anyone to try. Are you thinking of a british child or international adoption? International adoption costs a good bit of money and can be more complicated but you are more likely to get a child who is still a baby. but there are many british kids who need good homes...
I would suggest getting in touch with social services in your area and start with an informal discussion... There are a number of assessments that you need to go through, but I reckon it has to be worth it if you get a child at the end of it all.
