I thought that I would start a thread for those of us who are adopting.
Since we really don't get to have a thread on the PG forum, I thought this could be our thread!
Also adoptive mommy's can join...we need your support too!!
Who all is matched for adoption? What kind of adoption?
Who is waiting to be matched?

We're matched for adoption with a young lady from our same town. It's a boy and is due around Jan. 20.
We are going to have an open adoption.
Our match came about through word of mouth and the grace of God.
Our PBmom had a doc appointment last Thrusday and has another U/S tomorrow. She said that she would call me tomorrow so we could see the U/S video again.
We've not met out PBdad yet.

I got a big smile on my face when I saw your US picture! What a treasure that will be for your little boy. I think it's wonderful that you have such good contact w/PBmom. It'll all be wonderful for your son's future to have the beginnings of his life to show him. Very cool
I blabber on & on in the China Adoption thread but I'll give you my update here. I've completed 2 adoptions from China so I now have 3 little girls. All are wonderful and I'm truly blessed. I thank God and the 2 BMs for all I have every single day! If I were younger I'd be doing it all over again in a heartbeat.
But since our family is now complete I will just have to keep tabs on all of you and live vicariously through your beautiful new additions
Good idea for a thread--thank you

We are *patiently* waiting for our son to come home from Liberia in West Africa. We were told it would take 3 months when we accepted our referral on April 20th. Ha! The only sure thing we have learned about international adoption is that things change.
Our son's name will be Duncan. My dh will travel to Ghana to pick him up. At this point, we are still praying for a Christmas miracle, but realistically it will probably be well into the New Year.
I can't wait to know more about all the other expecting adoption mommies!

God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.
I thought that we would have more people posting with us. I couldn't think of a good name for the thread, so I just made it adoption.

Meme- How about something like "Expectant Adopting Mamas" or something like that? Do you have a name picked out for your son?
Our son is going to be a year either in early November or January. In April we were told once that he was 4 months old and the next day we were told 6 months. Going on that, I would say he will be 1 sometime between now and February! LOL I laugh because if I didn't I would cry. I want to cry out that nobody has even told me his birthdate yet, but I know nobody is listening. So I wait. Patiently. Because this is a Christian agency, I am told that I am unChristian if I ask too many questions. I am supposed to be waiting on God's timing and most days I can. Just not every day. I know my son is across the world with not enough to eat, sleeps on a floor and almost certainly has parasites and illnesses that are not being treated.
The good news is that I know several families with kids that have come out of our orphanage and they are all doing fine and are beautiful!

Great name idea! (ETA) I tried to changed it. It let me change it but it doesn't change the name. I don't know if it can be done.
We do have a name picked out. But we're not telling people.
I'm sorry that no one has told you his birthday yet. And I know how hard it is sometimes to wait on God's time.
I just keep telling myself with this adoption that if it's what meant to be, it will happen. If this is what God want for us, that's what it will be. I'm really, really trying not to stress over things!! If he brings you to it he will bring you through it.
I'll keep your son in my thoughts!

We're adopting from China. In 5 days we'll have hit our 11 month anniversary of waiting. I don't know how much longer it will be until we get our referral though. We're thinking some time next spring/summer w/ travel summer/early fall.
Our daughter will be named Aimee Li {Chinese name} (yes, she'll have 2-3 middle names. We're so prepared to have her home right now & so anxious for her to be here right now. We don't know her name or what she looks like, her birthday or her birth place but we already love her more than anyone could ever know.
On the name thing, you might be able to get a mod to change it on the forum
The u/s photo will be great to show your son when he's older. It will also be great for his lifebook (if you're making one)!

Thanks for your updates! It's so wonderful to hear how you all are doing. I've been out of touch with SC for quite a while but I've been trying to make an effort to stop by the Adoption Option on a regular basis. You ladies were a source of strength, a source of comfort and a wealth of information when we started our adoption journey. I'll never be able to thank you all enough.
You all are in my thoughts....I hope the time flies by and your little ones are with you soon.

Hi! How fun! I have one son who is from Guatemala. He is now 4 years old. We are in the process to become Foster/Adopt parents right now. We submitted our paperwork 2 weeks ago and are waiting for the clearances to come back so we can starte our PRIDE classes.

I spoke with out PBmom today. Her EDD has changed to Feb. 5th. She told us last time that the baby was about 2 weeks small so if it was still the same this time they would change her date.
It kinda sucks that the date is 2 weeks later, but she thinks that he will come on Jan. 23. Because she keeps seeing the numbers 1 2 3 everywhere.
She's going to call next week to come over to show us the u/s photos.

My husband and I are waiting for final approval from our agency. We are pursuing domestic infant adoption.
We can't wait to be parents! The only thing holding us up is one our references. It's my DH's friend and he just started a new job and has a lot on his plate. I'm about to get REAL frustrated with him because he's not returning our calls.
