Adoption in Canada?

can anyone tell me about Adopition in canada? What is the appox cost? where do you begin? What are the chances of getting a newborn? How long is the wait? What critiria do you have to meet?

We are current ttc with Clomid... if this does not work, i am not sure if we will continue further into the "natural route" and would like to know all my options.

I guess it depends if you want to go domestic or private or international.

Domestic - CAS is the way to go for this, they can send you an info package and its FREE

Private - There are a few lawyers that do it, you have to look in your area in the phone book - cost? depends on the lawyer etc we were told $5 - $15,000

check this link for all the countries you can adopt from since you live in canada...you should be able to get a list of social workers for your area off this website too...cost varies but hovers between $18 & $45 thousand *yikes thats a big range* LOL

We adopted from Ukraine in 2003 and are adopting from China 2006

We are also on hold with our local CAS (cant do 2 adoptions at once) for a domestic adoption

and once our DD comes home we will go back on "the list" for another child

thanks... i was thinking it was going to be $10000-$20000(ish) ...thanks for you help....
this may sound stupid.. but what is the difference between domestic and private?
