Question Adoption Children's Story Books

Does anyone know any good Adoption Children's books?

I have one by Jamie Lee Curtis "Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born" And I love it....I was just wondering if anyone has any favorites and who they are by or the names of them? If so please share....

God bless

Hi Lis,

I have Crazycakes to give to Lilly when she comes home. IT's a beautifully illustrated book with a great story. We also have "Happy Adoption Day" by John McCutcheon. Another one with great illustrations.

I'll keep looking and when I find anything else I'll let ya know!

Thanks Lis.....I'll have to try to find some. I don't live that close to a book store, but when I go I'm gonna try to pick some up for Desi. I'm gonna look for that Crazycakes!

Take care...

Here's one more -- I will keep researching... I am a librarian after all!

Katie-Bo : an adoption story / by Iris L. Fisher ; illustrated by Miriam Schaer.
Relates the adoption of a Korean baby girl into an American family as seen through the eyes of her brother-to-be.

Oh, and Audrey Penn is the author of "The Kissing Hand".

I know a lot of books deal specifically with adoption from China. Does anyone know of any that lean more towards south or even central America? Or maybe something that mentions being from another place, but doesn't get into specifics?

Here's a resource our agency gave us...it has a lot of books listed (not just China):

http://www.tapestrybooks.com/
http://www.tapestrybooks.com/catalog/index/toc.html

I also found these sites:

http://www.adoptionbooks.com/

http://www.adoptshoppebooks.com/

Hope this helps!

A fantatic book that doesnt mention country, etc. is "Why was I adopted" by carole Livingston. This would be a fantastic book for kids about 4 or so. I bought it for my 1 yr. old , hes now almost 3 and I read it to him. It is very informative and helps me explain(even though he has no clue what I am saying probably) with out huge detail. It is a fantastic book!! And is my favorite.
