We are having our first homestudy interview tomorrow morning and I am so very excited. This morning I sent off our fingerprints to the FBI to get the criminal background check. Anyone who has done this, how long did it take to get the results? I believe this is the thing that will be holding us up with the finalization of the homestudy. I sure hope we can get it done quickly. The lady said it should be finished in about a month! I sent the contract in to the agency on Monday. They are a small agency. In November they had 3 couples waiting for a caucasian infant and now there is only 1 ( and now us!) Hopefully it will not take long for us to be matched!! Anyway I was just excited and wanted to tell someone and I thought here was a good place! Does anyone have any pointers with the interview?

The FBI fingerprint did you put on their in pursuit of adoption or adoption pending need back by ? We were matched (which fell through) and had it back within 2 weeks, and that was at Christmas time...yes 2 weeks...I was impressed!!!!

Anyways, i am so glad to see you are prusuing adoption. Bryan and I might be adopting through a private situation but i am not real sure. Somedays she wants to keep the baby and others she wants us to take the baby instead. My gut tells me she will keep the baby so i am trying to not get to excited about the possibility. We are getting ready to build our house finally so that is nice. After it is built, we will be going for adoption full force. Good luck ang i hope you get a match very quickly. You deserve it.

The homestudy went wonderfully! The lady was so nice and she made things so easy. There are only 2 other people I am waiting on for refrences and then the FBI check to come in which should not take too long! I guess we are just waiting as I have been told I will be doing a lot of!!!
Cortney-It is great to hear from you! I will pray that God's will will be done with the baby. That would be wonderful. I hope you will enjoy building your house as much as I am. We hare not too far into building our 2nd house. It is so much fun to have this that Adam and I both enjoy. Please keep me posted on what happens with the baby.

Today our homestudy was finalized!!! I am so excited I could, will I do not know what, but I am happy. Our agency also said that we are next! There wer 3 couples in Nov, then in Jan out of those 3, 2 had been matched. Now that last couple has been matched and it is only us waiting!

How exciting!! Our fingerprints took over three months to come back, so congrats on the speediness of yours!! We were also told to wait 1-3 years for a healthy infant, and then we were matched in 3 months. I hope everything goes well for you! My fingers are crossed. Such an exciting time!!

Our FBI clearance came back super fast - less than 3wks I believe.
Can't believe that we were doing homestudy interviews this time last year and this year we're getting ready for bed at 9:30 p.m. because our awesome 8+ month old daughter wakes up at 7 a.m. (I'm still not a great morning person )
These last 8+ months have been a dream come true and I can't wait for all of you in waiting to begin your "new lives" as parents! The day will come, BELIEVE!!
