We are startting our classes for foster adoption next week. so in 5-9 months we should have our kids in our home, I hope. After the training for special needs adoption, comes the home study. We then we decide on children we think will fit us and the they( the adoption board) say ok or no. Then if it is yes a few weeks later our kids come home. I could go quickly and often does for families.
I am nevous and excited about the life changes that all this will bring.
Congratulations on starting the process! Be sure to keep us posted on how things go!

Thanks to all who read the first post and gave me support so far.
here is an update.
We went to our first training last night. It was very well done. I also found outit may take less time than I thought to go through the process as they will let us do the paper work during the class and not after it as I had thought. so we will just have the home visit and placement process when we are finnished cutting 1 to 2 months off my 4-6 months guesstament of how long it will take to have our children. I feel the time flying already. At the same time I know it may take longer so I don't have my hopes up too high.
We decided to take a trip in december as doing so will be diffucult or at least very diffrent after we have children.
I feel like I am at the top of a long sleding hill that has trees and boulders and I am about to go for the ride of my life.
You've got that right! You're definitely in for the ride of your life and it'll be a bumpy, exhilirating and EXTREMELY rewarding one!!
YAY for you !!

We've already booked and planned our entire anniversary trip to Vegas in January b/c we know we won't be going back for YEARS. We're going to have a blast knowing that it will be the last time!
Good Luck & thanks for the gift

You're both wise in planning trips like that because travel is certainly *different* once the little one arrives! ENJOY!!
