They do adoptions in China, India, Colombia and Russia. I believe they've put a hold on accepting new applications for the Guatemala program until the whole mess in Guatemala is straightened out. Also, I think Vietnam is currently closed for adoptions, but CHI plans to continue them when it reopens.

Nancy is a counselor and author. She deals with the complex issues unique to adoption that adoptive parents will encounter. As an adoptee, I only with that my parents had been armed with Nancy's knowledge when they were raising me. I think adoption is only responsible choice if perspective parents are willing to look at how the adoptee will be affected by it emotionally. When parents do this, adoption is/can be a tremendous gift and blessing. When they do not, the child is simply caught up in the parent's agenda and his/her rights and needs become a side issue, or worse yet, a non issue.
