Default Advice on Diet and Periods please

Hi

I havent had a period for 10 years, I am very overweight and have been on a diet for 4 weeks and I have lost 12 Pound.

This is great, I got my period this week and although I know this is great my body is working again, I am a bit Sceptical about it, I mean rome wasnt built in a day or weeks come to that and it just seems to soon, I have a lot of weight to lose and 4 weeks is not a long time.

Just wondering if this has happened to any of you? or if you think something could be wrong, I want to be elated but just feel a bit cautious at the moment x

I've found that it's the lifestyle behaviours more than a number on a scale that necessarily predicts whether or not I get a period. 12 pounds gone is great! Keep on going - your body obviously likes what you're doing! Now the trick will be to get it regulated and that might take a bit longer.

I dont think there is a blanket diet for "periods". You should see a good doc first.
I HAVE heard good things about Atkins and periods. Dont know if it is true or not. I think you will get lots of good replies about lots of diets because I think weight loss in general will help and exercise to boost the metabolism.
