 advice - natural cycle or IVF?
I know seems like such a chasm between the 2 options.....
I have a 22 month old DS, conceived naturally on a "spontaneous ovulation" (Drs words). When started ttc#2, went on metformin and ovulation induction (clomid then femara) immediately. 3 rounds of clomid, O'd, bfn. 3 rounds of femara, O'd beautifully, bfn. HSG clear, DH's SA great. Decided to take a month off and O'd on cd 19 (due to metformin?). Just got bfn at 11 dpo. I know may be too early, but now I'm faced with the decision to try another natural cycle or move on to IVF. Here are my thoughts:
- Natural: Perhaps the clomid/femara caused side effects that were inhibiting my bfp and if I give it another 1 or 2 cycles with a natural O (if that continues to happen) we'll get the bfp like we did the first time.
- IVF: I have now had 8 O's with properly timed BD/IUI and no bfp. Maybe its time to give my body more help.
Of course I'm hoping that I just tested too early today and I am still preggo this cycle, but if not I will need to start the IVF protocol on cd2 if that is the path we choose. I have a 15 day lp so I have a couple more days to decide if this cycle is bfn - any input would be appreciated!
