Advice and a question please

Ladies

I have just hooked up with an old school friend of mine after about 10 years...
She is gay (which I knew) and is living with her SO (significant other)...

question #1 - What should I refer to her SO as ? today I was speaking to her on the phone and said "I would love to meet your girlfriend" and she kinda went "oh well maybe I will come to your house then" do you think I offended her ?

question #2 - Should I just tell her I am inexperienced with having a gay friend and have her tell me what she is uncomfy with ? Somehow I think that might be the best thing...

I love her and dont want to lose our friendship again like we did so many years ago...
So any suggestions or words of wisdom would be wicked....

I prefer the term girlfriend also, "partner" sounds like someone you play boardgames with or something. I hate that word, but some gays do use it. Just talk to her about it.

Looks like we will be hanging out today so I will just be upfront and tell her or ask her ...
I am trying to put myself in her shoes like if she never had the opportunity to hang out with a straight girl how would she feel about things .

I am totally comfy I just want to make sure she is too

(I also agree about partner sounding like a business thing...I would refer to girlfriend if it was my situation for sure!)

k ! Phew ! I feel so much better !

She was here and I asked her if I offended her and she said no she would rather have her called her girlfriend....Phew !

Next time I will go to their house and meet her though, I am super excited to meet the woman who has captured my Sarahs heart...

So we talked a little about her being gay and how she should know I dont care and that I want her to be back in my life no matter what...

you wanna know what the easiest way to get over will be, to tell her your fears, she will tell you your being silly i assure you, however, if you dont get over it and keep carrying on like she's an alien, she wont want to spend time with you.......... im not trying to be mean, please dont be offended, but you dont need to treat her any different than any of your hetero friends, just because she sleeps with another woman, the rest of her life is parralell to yours, dont let the fact that shes a lesbian make a lick of difference (scuse the pun)
