Default Advice on when to take clomid

Here is my situation I was suppose to see my RE and do more rounds of clomid but due to money issues it's just not in the cards until fall of 2009. He was just going to have me do clomid again (I did 4 rounds of clomid Jan -May 2008 but I only O'd twice out of the 4 cycles) MY RE says I am inslin resistant and that is why clomid didn't work.
My RE wanted me to take it on 3-7 and my gyn would have had me take it on 5-9. Should I go with my RE and take it 3-7? I have major Oing issues so will 3-7 really help?
I am having another AO cycle and at what point should I call my gyn for provera?

My RE says it doesnt make a difference if you start on CD 3, 4, or 5. Its just the doctor's preference.

Clomid doesnt work for everyone... but its not because you're insulin resistant. The Met should help that. Have you considered injections?

I agree with the pp. The days you start clomid is all in doctors preference. Most RE's do prescribe clomid cd 3-7 and my obgyns do it 5-9. Its just the way they do it. I prefer CD 5-9 because that is the supposably the best way to get 1 good mature follie as opposed to CD 2-6 or 3-7 that usually causes lots of smaller not so mature follies.
I would say once you hit Cd 35 or 40 and you are positive that it is anovulatory than I would say that is long enough. There is no need to draw a ao cycle out even longer than it has to be
